Guruji.com announces Gujarati language search
Guruji.com is India’s first search engine backed by Sequoia Capital (Sequoia Capital has been an early investor in companies such as Google, Yahoo, Apple, Oracle, Cisco, YouTube, etc). It announces the launch of its Gujarati language search. This search engine already provides a simple but effective language interface for languages such as Malayalam, Hindi, Tamil, Kannada, and Telugu. “With internet usage gaining rapid popularity in India, removal of language barrier will further hasten the growth of regional language search in the country…” says the CEO Anurag Dod.
Crawl Technology, used by guruji.com, is a complex computing system that crawls the web identifying Indian content using sophisticated algorithms. The company has assembled a farm of servers to index the entire universe of Indian websites and is using propriety algorithms to go deep into the Indian internet domain and fetch locally relevant results to search queries of Indian consumers.
